A few weeks ago I received an email from Corey Bell from Dragon Heart Guitar Picks. He asked me if I would like to test some special Dragon Heart Picks. I heard from the brand before so I was really interested in trying these guitar picks.

First thoughts
The first thing that I noticed after receiving the picks, is the thickness of the picks. I was used to Dunlop 1mm picks, but these Dragon Heart picks seemed to be about 1.5mm. As you see in the picture below, the pick has three sides for three different strumming or picking styles. The sharp pointy side is ideal for fast lead solos, I use the regular side for riffs and licks and the rounded side sounds great for acoustic guitars.

Material
The pure Dragon Heart Pick is made of polyamide-imide, the original variant has 12% graphite content and the Hardened Pick is a glass filled variation. If you’re interested in the effects of these materials on your playing time with these picks, be sure to visit the Dragon Heart website (link down below). The picks are 100% made in the USA and I have to say, the quality is amazing. I’ve been trying the picks for a month now, and the picks still look and feel brandnew.

Sound
I have to say, these picks do sound amazing. Chords sound a lot brighter and my lead tone sounds a lot warmer than with a regular pick. It’s difficult to describe sound in words, so I will make a video to show the difference in sound soon. I’ve used a lot of different picks for the past six years, but after discovering these guitar picks, I will never use a different pick again.

Again, a big thank you to Corey Bell for giving me the chance to try these picks and stay tuned for the video review!
